This pattern is inspired by the beautiful handicrafts of Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party, on permanent display in the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s Feminist Collection.
This new stitching pattern creates the appearance of weaving through a simple modification of single crochet. This set is further enhanced by using the same colorway of yarn for both the super bulky and the worsted weight, which allows color variations in the yarn to truly shine. Finally, the brim of the hat and the edging on the scarf showcase little curves of the super bulky yarn, creating a charming wave pattern.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Yarn:
60 yards super bulky
210 yards worsted weight
(Shown in Malabrigo Rasta in Rosalinda and Malabrigo Rios in Rosalinda)
Hook: G/7 (4.5mm)
